The message: let’s not try to create hostility in our country, says Deputy Internal Security Minister Chia Kwang Chye.

The incredulity: there’s no hostility already meh?!

The abstract:

“We will not tolerate messages that can cause disharmony in the country.

“Stern action will be taken against those who try to create hostility in the country,” said Deputy Internal Security Minister Chia Kwang Chye.

He said existing laws such as the Sedition Act and Multimedia and Communication Act would be used against those who post such remarks on the Internet.

Not more crap about complicity from me, no sir. Just marvelling at the fact that there are still some left in this world who would, upon learning that the world really isn’t flat, continue to insist that the world is in fact flat.

I’m not about to wonder here how serious these people are: to do so would almost make me feel as if I’m inviting lightning strikes from Zeus (we’re not that important anyway, ya); the last vestiges of a personal egotism, maybe, but a well-founded fear? Maybe lah.

I don’t know if people are aware of this. By the way, Jeff Ooi and Mack Zulkifli have been listed as threatened bloggers (see right-hand side list). I blogged about this with some trepidation when I first started off here. I just wonder how long the grandstanding will go on. And I wonder how long people predicting doom and gloom will be called “alarmist”.
