xpyre: fair point. But those who can (and we could) should stop the spreading of words of hate wherever it may be that we might see them.

We wanted to teach her a "lesson" become young impressionable ppl read her blog and think it's ok to share her attitudes towards Malay ppl and the disabled. You only have to see their disgusting comments about Kimberly and Peter to know it.

Most of us do not hate her - we just hate *her words*.

p.s. Kimage is outta there! Response is on my blog.

ST> that the whole thing feels high-handed is a matter of my opinion, of course, and only defensible as such. are there better ways to deal with it? i don't know, probably ignore her. all the hysteria (of which i was part of earlier) around her blog and her blog content is very much akin to treating her like some cancer spreading all over the internet. she isn't. i don't see why we should give her that much credit.

Mooiness> well, isn't that internet justice for you? i suppose i can't expect it all to be 'fair', in whatever ways we wish to play out that word. i'd rather bloggers did it their way rather than allow the encroachment of the real world, in the larger scheme of things.

but here's the thing: you want her to feel pain in some way or another, but really in the larger context she's a gnat in a pool. she hasn't held anyone hostage, she hasn't beheaded anyone, and yeah, she hasn't encouraged singaporeans to go to war with malaysians (and no one would listen to her anyway).

Schoolyard rules work on the internet, yeah, but it tends to breed bullies on both sides of the fence.

Peter didn't have to make stuff up about XX, it's all there on her blog. Time and time again she knew she was courting controversy but she was never apologetic. So how? The only way she'd learn is for her to really feel the pain and that's through her endorsement deals.

Those ppl attacking Peter and Kimberly on a personal level do that because they got no way of justifying XX's words. The best defence is a good offense? Funny that. ;)

Even Kenny Sia admitted that XX's words cannot be justified all the time. Don't just believe me, come read what he said on my blog.

Haha, Karma mah, what goes around comes around.

I wouldn't say it was underhand, it's all out in the open, if it's underhand we all would have e-mailed from multiple fake identities, she would have lost her sponsors and not known why..

And TzuMing, there are laws, but they are not relevant to this, this is not a case of slander, defamation of character or anything else, most of what's being discussed comes down to opinion, which is way outside the jurisdiction of the law.

Problem is their eyes might have been wide open, but what if they weren't and they didn't realise? Voxy have pulled out, so if their eyes were wide open why did they need to terminate the deal? Sometimes it's not good to assume everyone is clued up, because more often than not (sad as it may be) ignorance reigns supreme.

It may be high-handed you say, but well we all have personal crusades and things we feel strongly about, sometimes we just want to express them. I'm not stopping anyone from shooting down what I say, in fact I encourage it.

ST> Sorry about the misspelling :)

I don't see how it's any less direct than attacking her. If it's to undermine her credibility she already does it herself, and if it's to give the perception that her credibility is undermining her endorsers, they'd already know that because they'd have signed contracts with XX with their eyes wide open.

(which makes them stupid, yesh...)

I'd rather just red-flag her since she's on blogger, or worse, leave her to the consequences of her own actions, which is probably the worst thing you could do to her.

All this underhanded writing of emails just upsets my cosmic balance lah, but that's just me. She might be a petulant child, but other bloggers acting in place of her nanny just sounds pretty high-handed to me.

Edit: Yup, what TzuMing said.

I have to agree with you Cookie Cutter. Sorry ST, with all due respect, I don't think anyone has any right to 'teach' someone a lesson by saying less than favorable things about the person regardless of what the person blogs about. There are laws to govern this, I am afraid you/Peter may have to apologize or you guys may possibly be sued.

You should read the art of war ;) Sometimes direct attacks don't always work, when seiging an enemy, don't try and attack them, take out their water and their food..She needs to learn some lessons in humility and social responsibility, perhaps by hitting her where it hurts, some progress will be made.

But maybe not, anyway her endorsers won't pull out if she's done nothing wrong as she states, so she should have nothing to worry about.

BTW you spelt my name wrong in the first instance ;) TTFN.

Actually, you're right in the end. Peter should be writing to her Parents not her endorsers.
